Introducing the 2014 SRT Viper GTS Anodized Carbon Special Edition Package – Nov 20, 2013– Detroit, USA (Techreleased) – Special-edition models are a large part of the SRTViper’s legacy. Reinforcing this tradition, the 2014 SRT Viper GTS Anodized Carbon Special Edition Package will be a limited-run 2014 offering, based on the SRT Viper GTS.

Matte Black and satin surface finishes provide the inspiration for this limited-issue SRT Viper Anodized Carbon Special Edition. This also marks the first production application of a matte surface for a production Viper.

“Matte finishes are something our customers have asked for,” said Mark Trostle, Head of SRT Design. “The SRT Viper GTS Anodized Carbon Special Edition Package exterior color combines matte black with some metallic grain to infuse depth. The name Anodized Carbon draws directly from the finish applied to this discrete supercar.”

The SRT Viper GTS Anodized Carbon Special Edition is the first Viper series-vehicle application to wear Black Vapor Chrome five-spoke wheels, with the same finish shown initially on the one-off Sons of Italy Foundation^® commemorative SRT Viper earlier this year, but with a different design.

As counterpoint to the Matte Black body, Satin Black Vapor Chrome marks the exhaust bezels, fuel filler door, carbon brake ducts and rear applique.

Contrasting orange brake calipers stand out, day and night, while a Gloss Black SRT applique subtly provides distinction between the light and dark shades.

“There is a nice contrast between the paint and the wheels,” said Trostle. “The high-gloss and low-gloss finishes bounce back and forth. Going down the road, especially at dusk, you will recognize this car is special, by the way it reacts to light.”

The SRT Viper GTS Carbon Anodized Special Edition interior extends the vibrant orange theme color, as the sport seats feature orange stitching and vent accents.

An Alcantara headliner, Alcantara-wrapped knee blockers and seat bolsters provide interior surface texture contrast. Gunmetal bezels and carbon-fiber accents further accent the interior.

“As a car designer – and more importantly as a car enthusiast – I’m always looking at ways of doing things differently,” said Trostle. “When we get a chance to do these kinds of cars, it’s very exciting. With special editions, we can stretch further and that makes these models even more special. Each one becomes a challenge in itself, because we are always looking to make our coolest package ever.”

Just 50 SRT Viper GTS Anodized Carbon Special Edition vehicles will be produced for 2014.
