Posted On March 21, 2012Mar 20,2012 — TASHKENT, Uzbekistan – Chevrolet continues the global launch of the all-new Malibu midsize sedan by announcing it will go on sale in Uzbekistan starting in July, following introductions in Korea, the United States, China and Europe.
The Malibu nameplate debuts in Uzbekistan and will be built for the local and neighboring markets at GM Uzbekistan, the manufacturing joint venture between General Motors and government-owned UzAvtosanoat in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. It represents the fifth and newest manufacturing location for the Malibu, which will be sold in nearly 100 countries on six continents.
Chevrolet’s first global midsize sedan gives Uzbek customers an athletic exterior design, premium and quiet interior, European-inspired ride and handling, and a fuel-efficient Ecotec 2.4L four-cylinder powertrain. It will be available in LT and LTZ trim levels, with a choice of 17- and 18-inch wheels.
