Dec 05, 2012– Tokyo, Japan (Techreleased) – Fujitsu Limited today announced the release of the new docomo ARROWS Tab F-05E Tablet, which will be available from NTT DOCOMO, INC. retail locations in Japan starting December 8. The new ARROWS Tab F-05E boasts a 10.1″ high-definition display, a 1.7GHz(1)quad-core processor, and a high-capacity 10,080-mAh battery, enabling users to enjoy video content and other high-resolution image websites when on the go.
As a flagship model of Fujitsu’s tablet lineup, the F-05E is packed with high-spec features for entertainment, including Dolby® Digital Plus technology for immersive sound, a switch-enabled smart fingerprint sensor, and a family-friendly style switcher.
Amid a rapidly expanding tablet market, there is an emerging demand for entertainment capabilities that make it easy to enjoy rich content with large volumes of Full HD video and precise map data, all on a large-screen display. Based on a study of tablet buyers conducted by Fujitsu, it has been revealed that an even greater number of elderly users are employing tablets and that the devices are increasingly being shared among family members at home, thereby suggesting that tablets are beginning to be used by a wide range of users in a selection of different environments.
Taking these new consumer demands and trends into account, Fujitsu has developed the ARROWS Tab F-05E, equipping it with a variety of entertainment features that can be used on the go and that deliver an even more stunning experience when viewing rich content. In addition, the new tablet features style switcher functionality that makes the device convenient to enjoy for a range of users, from children to the elderly. It also includes a switch-enabled fingerprint sensor that provides the high level of security required by enterprise users. The hairline finish on the back and other carefully designed touches give the tablet a quality feel. The 9.9mm thickness of the ARROWS Tab F-05E makes it a highly portable device.
With a 1,920 × 1,200 resolution, which exceeds the standard requirements for high-definition video, the F-05E’s display achieves vivid image quality and provides a more immersive HD video viewing experience on services like YouTube™. It also delivers crystal clear videogame graphics, maps, electronic books, and other texts.
The new tablet is equipped with an NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor for outstanding performance. With a high performance 1.7 GHz CPU and a 12-core graphics processing unit, high-definition games that depend heavily on graphic processing power still run smoothly. The quad-core processor actually has what is known as a 4-plus-1 architecture: it has a fifth low-power core built in, so that it can run in power-saving mode for less process heavy operations.
In addition, the tablet supports docomo LTE Xi connectivity, allowing users to easily watch high-resolution movies and browse the web at ultra-high speeds.
At approximately 10,080-mAh, the tablet’s battery has substantially higher capacity than the previous model, which was equipped with a 6,560-mAh battery. As a result, it can make it through a long day of heavy use while on the go or on vacation without users having to worry about battery life. In addition, the ARROWS Tab F-05E offers high-speed charging(2) with a fast charger—also compatible with Fujitsu smartphones—which in approximately 30 minutes can boost capacity to 1,510mAh, roughly 2.2 times larger capacity than the 700-mAh currently possible (with AC adapter 04).
This is the first tablet in Japan(3) to come equipped with the next generation of Dolby Digital Plus. Using only the front-facing speakers, YouTube videos come alive with a dimensional surround sound that provides the user with a home theater experience.
From a style designed specifically for children to a simpler style meant for the elderly, users can take advantage of the tablet’s Family Mode feature to easily switch to the home screen configuration that suits them the best. Because wallpapers, icons, clock formats, widgets and shortcut icons can all be changed according to the desired style, the F-05E is perfect for use by all members of the family.
The tablet wirelessly connects to DLNA-compatible Blu-Ray players and other devices to stream recorded terrestrial digital broadcasts(4) throughout the home. It can also wirelessly make copies of recorded programs to be played back on the tablet when away from home, and it supports the new SKY Perfect TV!® premium service’s high-definition programming.
Fujitsu’s “Human-Centric Engine,” which uses cutting-edge sensor technology to provide an ideal user experience, is even more sophisticated than before. To compensate for the decline in color sensitivity that occurs as people age, the new “Matching View” feature customizes the screen’s color balance to the user’s age, while “Clear Touch” makes touch-based operations more obvious.
With the built-in smart fingerprint sensor, the tablet’s security lock can be released by simply placing the finger of a pre-registered user on the sensor. The new sensor contains a switch that can turn the tablet’s screen on and off, making the process of turning on the screen and releasing its security lock easier than ever. Moreover, the new sensor delivers even greater convenience when employed in combination with the tablet’s built-in security features, such as privacy mode and a password manager.
The 8.1-megapixel camera with an Exmore RS for mobile™ CMOS image sensor is the perfect complement to the tablet’s high-definition screen. And with a 10.1″ screen, everyone can enjoy photos and videos shot using the tablet.
The tablet provides for a wide range of input options, from one-handed typing to handwriting. Kid’s Mode aids children in their school learning by automatically displaying a table showing the Japanese language’s “50-sounds table” enabling easy typing for children. Easy Mode automatically switches to a familiar right-to-left reading “ATM-style” 50-sounds table for greater ease of use.
This slim tablet packs in numerous thoughtful touches, including the Fujitsu Mobile Integrated Dictionary+, which includes 30 full-length dictionaries, the ATOK® advanced Japanese-language input method, IPX5/8 water resistance, IPX5 dust resistance(5), 1-seg broadcast television, NOTTV, and Bluetooth 4.0.
