New Honda Brio Introduced in Indonesia – Sep 11, 2013– Jakarta, Indonesia (Techreleased) – PT Honda Prospect Motor (HPM) introduced the New Honda Brio offering “More Choices, More Excitement,” in Jakarta. The New Brio variants now include New Brio 1.2 L A/T, Brio Sports 1.3 L, and Brio Satya, developed with Honda’s high quality, in response to the Low Cost Green Car (LCGC) program.
Honda Brio was first introduced in Indonesia on August 2, 2012 as Honda’s first offering in the City Car segment. Since its introduction, Honda Brio has been well received by customers in Indonesia, and in late 2012 became the best selling city car in the country, with 8,002 units sold. By August 2013, sales of Honda Brio in Indonesia has reached 14,914 units.
Within a year, Honda Brio has also received many awards in Indonesia: FORWOT Car of the Year 2012; Best City Car of the Year (Carmall.com); Best City Car New Comer (Autocar Award 2013); Rookie of The Year (OTOMOTIF Award 2013); Best City Hatchback (OTOMOTIF Award 2013); Best Fuel Consumption (Autobild Award 2012); Best Small Hatchback (Autobild Award 2012); and the 2nd Winner Favorite Car at IIMS 2012.
Honda Brio has established its image as a sporty and reliable city car through a variety of activities. The Brio Speed Challenge, a one-make race series has been held regularly at the Sentul International circuit with 14 racers participating. In addition, Brio Saturday Night Challenge, a driving skills race event has been held over 3 series in Jakarta and Surabaya, and gathered a total of 227 owners of the Honda Brio. This model is often used by participants in the event as Slalom and Drag Race in various regions in Indonesia.

For the first time in Indonesia, Honda introduced i-VTEC SOHC 1.2 liter 4 cylinder engine with 88 PS power, the largest in its class. Equipped with Drive By Wire (DBW), Grade Logic Control and Shift Hold Control, New Brio is not only powerful but also fuel efficient and complies with Euro 4 emission standards. New Honda Brio 1.2 LA / T uses a 5AT transmission also sporty and responsive.
For driving confidence, the Tilt Steering feature allows the driver to set the high and low position of the steering wheel to set the most comfortable driving position. Electric Power Steering (EPS) lightens the steering at low speeds, and increases stability at high speeds, allowing the driver to maneuver with agility while remaining stable on a variety of road conditions.
Compared to the previous model, the new Brio is equipped with a variety of additional features on the exterior and interior. New features on the exterior such as Fog Lamp, Rear Wiper and Rear Chrome Garnish complement existing features like Body Colored Side Mirror (Type E & S), Body Colored Door Handle (Type E & S), 14″ Alloy Wheel (Type E & S), and Tail Gate Spoiler. The interior features Audio System Double Din AM/FM, Single Disc player, MP3/WMA + USB port + Aux Input + Made for iPod (Type E), Front + Rear Speakers (Type E & S).
The new Honda Brio 1.2 LA / T is equipped with safety features such as Dual SRS Airbags, Pretensioner Seatbelt with Load Limiter and ABS + EBD braking devices. Body frame structure uses G-Force Control Technology (G-CON) + Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACETM). New Honda Brio also has passed crash tests in the Real World Crash Test Facility Honda in Tochigi, Japan. As for safety features, new Honda Brio 1.2 LA / T is equipped with an immobilizer.
New Honda Brio 1.2 LA / T is available in 6 attractive colors, Taffeta White, Alabaster Silver Metallic, Crystal Black Pearl, Polished Metal Metallic, as well as two new colors Rallye Red, Sunset Orange II.
For customers who want a city car more sporty and powerful model, there are also variants of New Brio Sports, which sports the 1.3 liter SOHC 4 cylinder Honda i-VTEC engine with 100 PS power, the largest in the City Car class. This engine is also equipped with the same technology and features with the New Honda Brio 1.2 LA / T.

New Honda Brio Honda Satya was designed as a response to the LCGC (Low Cost Green Car) program by Indonesian government. This model is entirely produced in Indonesia with 85% local content.
As a national product, Brio Satya also carries the name and logo were created specifically for Indonesia. The name “Satya” itself comes from the Sanskrit word which means “sincere” or “faithful.” Brio Satya also bears the logo that takes the form from jasmine flower, the national flower of Indonesia.
Tomoki Uchida explains that Brio Satya is a product that will make a positive contribution, not only for Honda but also for the automotive industry in Indonesia generally. “With high local content on Brio Satya, the number of local suppliers involvement also increased, while the production activity will also drive the economic and create new working opportunity,” he said.
“For Honda, Brio Satya is the model with the lowest price which introduced by Honda in Indonesia. Thus, Brio Satya provides an opportunity for more consumers to enjoy a standard of quality Honda at more affordable prices,” he added.
New Honda Brio Satya consists of three types: E,S, and A. These three variant use the platform and the base model as the same as Honda Brio which has been first marketed in Indonesia and has been proven toughness and popularity.
