Posted On November 7, 2012Nov 07, 2012– Lake Success, USA (Techreleased) – Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, today announced the RS-IL04UL Ultra Long Focus Zoom Lens which can be used with the Company’s REALiS Professional A/V Series projectors to bring high-image quality to a wide variety of locations. With this lens, users have the flexibility of installing their professional A/V systems anywhere from 15 to 290 feet from the desired projection area with minimal image quality change.
“Canon is committed to providing users with a complete system to satisfy their projecting needs,” noted Yuichi Ishizuka, executive vice president and general manager of the Imaging Technologies and Communications Group, Canon U.S.A. “The addition of this new lens helps expand the locations and applications where our REALiS models can be utilized.”
The Canon RS-IL04UL Ultra Long Focus Zoom Lens is compatible with all current Canon REALiS Pro A/V Series projectors, including all WUX 4000, WUX 5000, WX6000 and SX6000 models. With a 1.95X zoom ratio and a throw ratio of approximately 3.8~7.3:1, this lens is optimized for 60″ to 600″ screens and is ideally suited for larger venues such as houses of worship, auditoriums, and lecture halls.
Similar to other lenses Canon provides for its REALiS Pro A/V Series projectors, the RS-IL04UL Ultra Long Focus Zoom Lens includes independently floating elements, helping to ensure minimal image quality change and light loss throughout the zoom length of the lens, thus greatly reducing the need to over-specify projector brightness to compensate for light loss. For example, the brightness of the Canon REALiS WUX4000 projector drops only 17% from the wide angle to the telephoto setting of the standard zoom lens, while competitive products can lose up to 35% of their brightness in making the same adjustment.
REALiS Pro A/V interchangeable lenses offer color accuracy and image quality that users look for from a fixed lens combined with the flexibility of optical zoom. All of the lens options in the REALiS Pro A/V series include features developed from Canon’s industry-leading EOS technology, including aspheric lens elements help to diminish distortion and an Ultra Low Dispersion (UD) element to reduce chromatic aberration. The lenses are also similarly sized to fit within the body of the projector, allowing for easy installation, regardless of the desired throw distance, when using a lift.
The suggested list price of the RS-IL04UL Ultra Long Focus Zoom Lens is $3499 and it is scheduled to be available at the end of November.
