Oct 19, 2012– São José dos Campos, Brazil  (Techreleased) –FLYNONSTOP, the new Norwegian airline based in Kristiansand, has acquired an EMBRAER 190 to support the airline’s launch in April 2013. The aircraft will be leased from a third party. FLYNONSTOP’s E190 will be configured with 100 Elite seats in single class layout. The airline intends to operate its E190 between Kristiansand and major European cities to tap into the growing demand for scheduled nonstop air service to/from Norway.

“FLYNONSTOP’s selection of the E190 is another endorsement of the aircraft’s versatile performance capabilities and ideal size for serving secondary markets across Europe. I’m particularly pleased that another carrier in Scandinavia is flying E-Jets. I’m confident that Norwegian passengers will be impressed with the E190 and the new nonstop convenience it will bring,” said Paulo Cesar Silva, President of Embraer, Commercial Aviation.

While Embraer aircraft have been flying throughout Scandinavia for years, FLYNONSTOP is the first customer to operate an E-Jet from Norway. E-Jets are currently in service with three other Northern European based carriers – Finnair, Flybe Finland and Estonian Air. With FLYNONSTOP, there are now 28 customers from 19 European countries currently flying or with confirmed future orders for Embraer commercial jets. Twenty four of those are E-Jet operators.

“Like our name suggests, the focus of our business is to link underserved markets in Norway with key cities in Southern and Central Europe without having to make a connection,” said Daniel Lundberg, CEO of FLYNONSTOP. “The E190’s range and size is ideal. We can add frequency and routes without adding too many seats and we can fly nonstop to places with seasonal demand as well as to key business cities.”

Embraer has a growing presence in Northern and Eastern Europe as carriers there continue to replace their ageing fleets and right-size capacity. Eight airlines currently fly E-Jets in that region: LOT Polish, Air Moldova, Finnair, Flybe Finland, Estonian Air, AeroSvit, Belavia and Wind Rose Aviation.

FLYNONSTOP brings to 63 the number of airlines from 43 countries currently flying or with confirmed future deliveries for E-Jets. On October 10, 2012, Embraer delivered its 900th E-Jet. The company registered 1,063 firm E-Jet orders as of September 30, 2012.
