Posted On December 11, 2012Dec 11, 2012– Cannes, France (Techreleased) – The Yamal-402 telecommunication satellite was launched on December 8, 2012 from Baikonour by a Proton Breeze-M rocket.

Thales Alenia Space and Gazprom Space Systems will proceed to all the necessary maneuvers in order to optimize and reconfigure the flight plan from the lower and more inclined than expected transfer orbit let by the launcher, into its correct geostationary orbit. These maneuvers will be carried out securely and with optimized minimum use of propellant.
The Yamal-402 satellite is based on a Spacebus 4000 platform. It is fitted with 46 Ku-band transponders.
