Posted On September 11, 2012Sept 11, 2012–Oslo,Norway (Techreleased) –The 2013 Goldfish 50 Ocean makes its world debut. One of the more extraordinary boats to come out of Scandinavia in recent years was launched last week at the Oslo In-Water Boat Show.
The Goldfish 50 Ocean is the brainchild of Goldfish boss Pål Sollie and blurs the lines between superyacht tender, offshore cruiser and Riviera dayboat.
It’s the biggest boat yet to emerge from the Norwegian yard, and like the rest of the Goldfish line-up, it comes packed with plenty of power.
The biggest engines, twin 1,120hp FPTs running surface drives, will see the 50 Ocean up to 60 knots, while the smaller 740hp sterndrive options will get the boat to 50 knots.
That performance may be put to the ultimate test next year as Goldfish is thinking about entering the boat in the Venture Cup Cowes to Monte Carlo race.
The enormous cockpit provides ample seating for your maximum of ten guests, and down below there’s sleeping space for four in the open, airy cabin.
Expect attention to detail to be a key feature, especially since Sollie himself altered the design during the building phase when he decided the 50 Ocean looked “too narrow and too low”.
The base boat with the biggest engines will set you back around €723,298 (£578,665) ex tax; the smaller-engine version will cost around €628,098 (£502,500).
