Posted On May 27, 2015Whether or not you allow your employees to bring their own device, you may want to give them a standard work phone to help boost their productivity. Your employees need an up-to-date smartphone, like the new Samsung Galaxy S 6, to do everything from checking email at home to working on presentations while traveling. Here are some of the features you should consider:
Screen
The Galaxy S 6’s screen is nice and large, measuring in at 5.1 inches with a 577 pixel-per-inch density. This means that you have a large, crisp and clear field of view. This benefits your on-the-go employees because they can see more information at once as opposed to constantly having to scroll up or down.
Speed
This is the first phone to feature a 64-bit octacore Exynos processor alongside 3GB of RAM, which basically means it has a quick performance. For your employees, the fast processing speeds lets them get the job done faster because they won’t waste time waiting for an app to open or a page to load. Instead, they can get straight to work.
Durability
Since your employees use their smartphones every day, you want to make sure it can withstand a bit of abuse. With Corning Gorilla Glass 4 wrapped around a metal frame, you don’t have to worry about your employees breaking this phone. It’s meant to withstand day-to-day wear and tear and even falls from a couple feet up without shattering.
Security
There are two major security features on the S 6: separate work and personal accounts and a fingerprint sensor. The separated work and home accounts are ideal if you are buying your employee a device to be used all the time or if you decide to implement a BYOD policy. This way they can keep their business files and personal files separate, which is perfect in case the employee loses the device or if he or she is terminated. For further security, Samsung’s fingerprint scanner uses its own TouchWiz platform to make sure no one can use your device but you.
Battery
The Galaxy S 6 comes with a large 2550mAh battery that utilizes quick-charge technology. It can charge all the way up to 50 percent in 30 minutes, so your employees don’t have the excuse that their phone died when you try to contact them. However, a downside to the battery is that it’s not removable. This means your employees can’t have extra batteries on hand for long trips or replace a dead battery if they forget or lose the charging cable.
No Micro SD Slot
Another downside of the device is that it doesn’t have a micro SD slot. This means that your employees can’t store more information on the device. However, the Galaxy S 6 does come in a 32, 64 and 128GB model, which should be enough space for typical business functions, especially if you use a cloud storage service.
Whether you are considering buying your employees a work device or implementing a BYOD policy, the Samsung Galaxy S 6 is a great choice to consider for your business.
