(Techreleased) – ZTE launched the 4G LTE version of its bestselling Qing Yang 2 smartphone in collaboration with China Telecom, delivering performance improvements and enhanced user experience that will appeal to younger consumers.
The new Qing Yang 2 is powered by the energy-efficient Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8926 1.2GHz processor, adding support for FDD-LTE and TDD-LTE 4G networks to deliver data transmission rates of up to 150Mbps for an ultra-fast mobile Internet experience. With the expanded 2GB of RAM memory, the new Qing Yang 2 enables users to run multiple applications with aplomb. Exemplifying ZTE’s technology leadership in 4G, new Qing Yang 2 is among the first batch of 4G smartphones available to China Telecom subscribers.
Apart from providing a higher-quality 1280×720 display, the 5-inch high-resolution IPS touch-screen on the new Qing Yang 2 allows users to make calls, switch on the camera, play music and perform other functions by simple finger control even when the phone is in screen-lock mode. Designed for younger users with energetic lifestyles, the new Qing Yang comes with a 8 megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel front camera, allowing users to improvise with a wide selection of visual effects enabled by ZTE’s industry-leading proprietary photography technology. The new Qing Yang 2 supports more than 10 advanced photography features including 88° wide-angled shooting, intelligent tracking and 4cm macro-shooting.
“The new Qing Yang 2 will help drive the growth of the 4G market in China,” said Mr. Adam Zeng, CEO of ZTE Mobile Devices. “ZTE’s commitment to technology innovation, global scale, and our breath of capabilities will help our partners address the market opportunity in 4G.”
Priced at RMB 1,599, the new Qing Yang 2 retains the sleek ergonomic style of the previous version, designed for users to hold comfortably in their hands. The previous Qing Yang 2 registered more than 2 million pre-orders in the first seven days after it was launched earlier this year.
“With the new Qing Yang 2, we are bringing cutting-edge technology and a superior user experience to a wide audience,” said Mr. Wu Hai, CEO of China at ZTE Mobile Devices. “The new Qing Yang 2 enables users at China Telecom to benefit from ZTE’s market leadership in 4G technology, opening up new lifestyle possibilities in the age of mobile Internet.”
During his 16-year career at ZTE, Mr. Wu helped the company roll out many successful products, including Blade 880, the first ZTE smartphone to sell more than 10 million units.
The new Qing Yang 2 is pre-installed with Xiang Gan Ma, a landmark for ZTE in terms of software application development. The new app will dynamically provide users with personalized suggestions of trending topics and applications, bringing an intuitive and intelligent user experience to consumers. Xian Gan Ma means “Do whatever you want to do” in Chinese.
The new Qing Yang 2 will also allow users to access multiple global-positioning system (GPS) technologies including GPSS and Glonass, giving consumers greater versatility and performance. There are also enhanced connectivity options that allow users to connect their new Qing Yang 2 to USB drives and cameras.
